Application requirements
Mastery of the Quran
Mastery of Quran recitation and of applying the rules of Tajweed.
Ijazah certificate
An Ijazah in the narration of Hafs from ‘Asim.
Passing the interview
Successfully passing the initial assessment and the personal interview.
Priority is given to those with

Proficiency in English or other languages, to reach a wider range of learners.
Teaching experience
Previous experience teaching the Quran or related sciences.
Application tracks
Choose your track and see its requirements
Each track has its own requirements, and you select the track you are applying for at the start of the application form.
Track 1
Arabic speakers
Teach the Quran to Arabic speakers.
- At least two years’ experience teaching the Quran.
- An Ijazah in the narration of Hafs from ‘Asim or Warsh from Nafi’.
- Passing the tests and personal interviews.
Track 2
Teaching non-Arabic speakers in English
Teach the Quran in English to people who do not speak Arabic.
- Experience teaching the Quran in English to non-Arabic speakers.
- An Ijazah in the narration of Hafs from ‘Asim or Warsh from Nafi’.
- Fluency in English.
- An audio recording of you reciting a specified passage of the Quran, with its link added to the form.
- An audio recording in English explaining a specified Tajweed or Foundation rule, with its link added to the form.
- Passing the tests and personal interviews.
Track 3
Letter foundations and teaching children
Teach children the foundations of the Arabic letters and the recitation of the Quran.
- Experience teaching one of the recognized letter-foundation curricula.
- A certificate in one of the recognized letter-foundation curricula.
- Practical experience teaching children and communicating with them remotely.
- A video introducing yourself, no longer than 3 minutes (female teachers must wear the niqab).
- An audio recording explaining a Foundation rule.
- A recording of you reciting Surah Ash-Shura, from verse 1 to verse 5.
- Passing the tests and the personal interview.
